What coral or fish are you afraid to try in your tank right now and why is that?

Copperband butterfly fish. I tried one once but couldn’t get it to eat, and had to watch it slowly perish. I’d like to try again but I’m afraid it will meet the same demise.

Deathly afraid of adding anything to one of my tanks, a 40 breeder. There is no disease, unwanted algae, worms or any other pest. I border on paranoia about it.

I bought a gem tang and had it for three months. I came home from golfing and found it dead. Looks like it swam into the live rock and ripped off a pectoral fin. Bummer. Scared to add another due to the price!

0/3 on lysmata shrimps. I’m guessing I have improper iodine (iodide?) levels in my tank and it’s causing failed molts. One day I’ll keep one but so far no good.

The one thing I back off with is Scoly's... The price of these beauties is enough to make me take a step back and make sure I have everything just right. I'd hate to drop a grand on a piece and see it dead in a couple weeks.

I have an aiptasia issue. 3 absolute units have begun spawning tiny bois everywhere. They are a good silver dollar size polyp each. I tried lemon juice and my peppermint shrimp doesn't touch them, so I may get an aiptasia eating filefish again as I had great results last time.
Only issue was it developed a taste for my cynarina overnight. The poor thing is still looking rough.

Absolutely nothing. The key is to buy what you can afford to replace. Sometimes my fish take a liking to a particular coral or invert - sometimes not. So if I'm going to feed my fish a special meal I'd rather it be McDonalds than a 5- course meal. Most fish diseases and ailments don't really scare me anymore - even velvet.
