Why aren't these more avalible?

I have looked for an automatic algae scraper for a few years now, and each time I search, there is really only one that you can buy, and it is only good for glass up to 3/8 inches. all of the reviews on it are really great, so I am surprised there aren't more options out there. There was a Kickstarter one, but it looks like a complete scam to me, currently 3 years delayed.

So my question is, why aren't there more options out there? It seems like a very useful and affordable piece of equipment that could be massively time saving.

A good idea. But how to not scratch the glass. The only automatic glass algae scraper I know is the local tank maintaince people.
