Why can't I find a blue tang?

I've been trying for about 3 weeks now to find a blue tang and I can't seem to find any in any LFS. Are they out of season at the moment or is something else going on?

Just curious, do they know that you are looking for one? Have you asked them about it or asked them to order one?

Not sure where you are located they are all over like fireflies at night here.

Yeah I did ask one and they said they were just too expensive at the moment.

I'm in Miami and have maybe 15 LFS in a 15 mile radius.

One does have a lot of yellow belly tangs, but not 'regular' ones.

That's probably your answer lol

Some stores will only buy fish that are on sale. Or some stores will only buy certain fish from certain places and they can't just order 1 thing so they have to wait for everything they want to be available, and they have to make sure they have space ready for it. 4th of July (and just summer in general) does seem like it's affected availability as well.

I can't believe you can't find one in Miami. I can take my pick of probably 20 blue tangs at any given time here in PHX. Have you checked FB groups in your area? Let me know if I need to overnight one to ya!
