Why can't I keep euphyllia anymore?

I went through that a while back. I did some research and found out that for some reason they like their magnesium level around 1450-1500. Once I got my numbers up they went back to their normal fluffiness. Look up a channel called fragbox corals. That’s where I got the information. It helped ME, it’s easy to dose too.

I second the ICP test.

There is a host of reasons why this might occur and you covered the most obvious to eliminate those as the cause. Have you dipped the corals to check for pest? Have you checked all your equipment looking for rusty parts? Do you do weekly water changes? ICP is the best way to check everything. Typically corals can be struggling for many months internally but not show the outward signs of stress then one day they just seem to be in obvious decline.

Euphyllia eating flat worms are 1. Look at tissue at night with a blue light. They start there and then eventually will make their way into the head(s).

ICP test will let you know if you have some rogue metal or other toxic stuff in there.

I keep restor and a high quality amino acid on hand and if my euphyllia are showing any signs of stress, tank water, restor and the amino acid dip for 15 or so minutes. Sometimes I will add LPS food in there as well.

When you have 2 or more leathers in a tank they will secrete toxins at each other. Coral warfare.
This makes me wonder if that's why my stellaria chalice is suddenly showing some skeleton. Never really thought about that til now.
