I have had 2 anemones for a few weeks now. A small green BTA and a 4-5" carpet.
I havent feed them only tried to get mysis near them.
I feed them raw/frozen shrimp today. I thawed it and rinsed it well with tank water.
They both eagerly took them in. It was kinda cool cause the GBTA ate about half it's size.
The carpet completely took its in and opened up after awhile. Later I noticed it had spit it back out.

Why??

Uhhh.. 3/4" to the BTA and 1" to the carpet. Did it just get so full it threw up??

THATS CORRECT,My carpet ate a 5" hippo tang then when he was done spit it up...now that my 2 clowns are hosting it i cant get my carpet to eat anything, haven't fed him in 6 months which i use to feed twice a week 1 inch pieces of shrimp.Carpet is 18" round though and im surprised hes not hungry

The BTA spit it's dinner out too.
Note to self: Feed much smaller pieces.

LOL...my 2 clowns love it,only leave it for a few seconds to come get food,If i touch a piece of shrimp to the carpet it sticks, but then the clowns grab it take it away and eat it themselfs..I do see the momma clown(in picture) go to the mouth of the carpet and spit food in once in a while ...

Prices where to big, mine use to spit it out too but its nothing to worry about its got enough trust me. Feed 3x a week and he'll be huge !! PS add some "fuel" to it and or corals and inverts will grow crazy"! Trust me

Fuel has amino acids and vitamins your food doesn't, take the advice when he gets big enough cut it back. Anything and everything will grow

Been keeping hosting anemones for a long time now (( 16+ years )), never had the need for that stuff.
Proper water conditions, proper lights, and occasional direct feedings.

IMO, that stuff is going to cause water parameter issues, and have a change of doing more harm than good.

Somehow managed these anemones with just using proper water/lights and frozen krill about once a month.

Beautiful carpets, this was mine before the storm using the fuel, to each his own :)

You mentioned in another thread that your tank was set up 7 weeks ago -- is that the same tank as this one? If so, what are your current water parameters? (( with numbers please )) I think that a major part of your problem is that your tank is less than 2 months old, not nearly old enough for one anemone, let alone two.
