Why do I have so many bubbles in my sump!?

So I have a hob overflow that is going into my sump. I have a lot of bubbles and can’t figure out how to get rid of them. They aren’t causing any problems just annoying and noisy!

Perhaps a picture of the hob overflow would help.
If you put a filter sock at the exit pipe it could make a difference.
Also have you tried to place the exit pipe 1/4 inch under water?

It’s a marine depot trigger system sump, the pipes are well under the water. My overflow is a lifereef overflow with a stockman standpipe installed

You’ve got air entering somewhere in your overflow. I’d look for the source. It could also be that overflow isn’t tuned right.

Could it be from the hose in the stockman standpipe?

It could be that combined with the need for “tuning.”
I’d play around with it until you can the mix right. Sorry I’m not more helpful, I’m just not familiar with your model.

The only thing I am thinking is because my gate valve is all the way open? I was told to do this though I case of an overflow or something getting stuck.. hmm I guess I can just keep messing with it.
