I've noticed that fish stores always use that dark blue light color for all their fish and corals. Is there a specific reason they do this? Is it to help show the corals better? Does dark blue light help growth?

And blue is less inclined to grow algae. It makes the corals look nice, prevents algae and it is probably all thats sufficient to keep the coral alive.

Makes the colors really pop. Some corals (one of my favorite examples is eagle eye zoas) don’t look very amazing under normal white light but look beautiful under a deep blue LED or actinic.

Every one has different opinions on what color of light makes corals grow. It's a combination of blues and whites. To much blue for long periods can promote algea growth.

It also means they can get cool neon shirts for them and their employees to stand out in the coral room ;)
