Why do live sales have to be all day long?

I like LIVE sales but why do they have to be all day long? It seems to only benefit people who nothing to do the most. For instance, I work weekdays and rare occasions on weekends and the weekend is the only time I can get stuff done that I couldn't be completed because I was at work. Anyone have an answer as to what's the thought process behind it?

Marketing/sales tactic. By offering a limited number of frags at any given time it helps create a frenzy of buying whereas if they released 500 frags at once there would be no feeling of urgency to buy. Also you don't feel as bad spending money throughout the day on different frags because you don't see the total cost. However if you had 10-15 frags in your cart you may be more hesitant to go through with the purchase
