My clownfish look like they have hosted the area around my wave maker and I find them sitting along the back wall like this very often. I took this picture after cleaning the tank and doing a water change then 2 minutes later he started swimming around again. They sleep like this but why do they sit like this and is it concerning?

To me it just looks like they’re trying to protect their “host” I think once you get coral in there they’ll stop. Mine used to protect the back wall (not even a small bit of it… the whole back wall was her’s). Once my Yumas started to grow in she protected them and now they host her. Here’s my most recent photo of her… her face says it all.

That’s great, exactly what I was thinking. But they like glue themselves to the powerhead. Just let’s the suction hold them there so I’m hoping that’s just a sign of them relaxing maybe from the water change stress?

It’s what they do. Nothing to worry about. Normal behavior.
Thank you, just a bit worried Because my shrimp has been acting very lethargic and molted last night. Found out that the heater had turned off and water temp was down to 74 from the normal 79 so I’m assuming they are a little stressed from the temp change too.

They are stuck to the power head?
Suction can hold them?
Thats not normal.
Hover, hold, stand, near something is normal.
Not stuck too.

I mean it almost seems as if he lets his body suction to the power head. He gets up and moves around when I go near the tank and then will go lay up there again.
