Why do people wrap coral in a bag first?

Interesting, I've never heard of a whole seller charging near that much for one zoa rock. I understand they cut them up and make frags but never for near that much money. I'd be interested in knowing what vendor would ever pay that. The ones I know wouldn't come close

This goes back to the thread complaining about the cost of corals today. Once it got back to the overseas sellers that certain corals they were selling for near nothing were being chopped up and sold here for thousands they raised their prices significantly. Everybody wants their cut.

Shipping with wet newspaper is a viable and dependable option. I will have to find the book with the explanation. Basically, corals are out of water during low tide so thec can handle it with mucous production. I believe it's antholny calfo in his book coral propogation. But "dry" shipping is very cost effective and effecient.

What a trip. I also wondered the same thing. Thank!

Hi all! I'm visiting the US and plan on taking some frags back to my country. Just wondering, is it illegal to buy the frags in a pet shop, pack them in my suitcase and take an international flight out? Will I be stopped before I board my flight? It won't be carry on...
