As the title says I wonder why we never see any yuma gardens? I always see ricordea florida gardens and while they are nice, it makes me wonder why people dont do it with yumas? You can't deny that they have far more diverse and bright colors. Is it just because they're harder to keep? I feel like that wouldn't stop people though. I make this thread because I just ordered some awesome yumas and I wanted to look for ric garden inspo but all I could find was florida gardens. If you have a yuma garden show me! :D

I don't have a good answer for you but I'd love to see what you come up with. I've never had much luck with either species but I think what you've got in mind might look terrific.

Well the yumas certainly look terrific! If I ever get a nice yuma garden going I'll post pics ;)

I think it comes down to several factors. First is the fact that most don't multiply very easily. I've known people to have the same one for years and never get a baby. I have seen a couple that do seem to shoot off babies all the time. Another factor seems to be supply. I personally don't see them like I did 10 to 15 years ago. I remember vendors having dozens to choose from, now I rarely see a vendor with any. If they do have any it is one or 2 and they are in the $100 to $200 range. Lastly I really don't see many people having long term success with them.

Because they melt. all. the. time.

I've been reefing since 2005, and I've FINALLY had ONE Yuma to live in my tank, and make one baby.
Dang. I hope luck's on my side then, although in the past (before my tank crashed) I never had trouble with Yumas so maybe I'll get lucky again.

Beginning of my yuma garden, in the corner getting acclimated to the light :D (Two on the right are way more yellow and orange in person)
