I got a diamond goby a few days ago and he likes to hide under a rock with sand covering the entrance. I've only seen him come out once, and I'm worried he's going to die in there! Is this normal? Here is a picture from the only time he didn't have sand covering the entrance to his cave.

Very normal! Get him a buddy Pistol Shrimp. You'll see much more of him then :) Until you do make sure to target feed him by putting small meaty foods close to the opening of his cave.

Mine was that way the first few days. Now the lil guy is hijacking any coral not glued down and dominating the whole tank. If he's not out in a week then start looking...

Lol give him time he getting used to the tank and his room mates in a couple days he gonna flip your tank upside-down couple times a day them u gonna wish he was this good :)

hahahah, alright thanks for the info! Just wanted to make sure it was normal! I HOPE he doesn't destroy my coral :squigglemouth:

Would you go with frozen mysis shrimp for this guy?

Mine eats anything I put in tank. Flakes, brine shrimp, rod's. He's a pig

Mine demolishes PE Mysis.

Sweet, sounds like I'll be getting some! =D thanks

Why does my goby hide along with my pistol shrimp I see more of my pistol shrimp then my Goby not seen him in a few days

They are a naturally reclusive fish. If you want something that is regularly out and about, the watchman is not a good choice. I've had mine for over 5 years and can go weeks without seeing it.

I have a Diamond and I see him everyday. I actually like what he does with the sand. It’s different everyday.

We have a Diamond Watman Golby and it’s been almost two days and is just hiding under the sand under the rocks. Will he come out? We think he’s just getting use to the other fish and area but he has yet to come out.
