I had a few Aiptasia in my tank that cropped up. I decided this morning to perform a tactical strike with Aiptasia X. I've done this before, and sometimes I've had to treat more than once before I got the suckers. Anyway, I've always read that if you do it correctly, the anemone literally implodes...but I had never seen that.

Well, I saw it this morning! I dosed the Aiptasia X onto one anemone and he slowly retreated like they all do, then BOOM! A little mushroom cloud of Aiptasia X emanated forth from the former location of the anemone :)

Very satisfying! I love the smell of napalm in the morning! ;)

They have clearly been mocking you....

Hope it works out for you, Aiptasia X never worked long term for me, but there was some gratification in it's use none the less.

Oh, I get them eventually. Persistence is KEY!

congratulations! welcome to club napalm!

There are a few important steps in defeating Aiptasia with Aiptasia-X

Step 1 turn off power heads
Step 2 is to get the needle close to its mouth and slowly eject the Aiptasia-X covering its mouth, keep doing that until the satisfying "pop"
Step 3 is to continue to cover the "popped" Aiptasia with more Aiptasia-X and smother it completely.... This will harden and seal in any aiptasia spawn to kill them too
Step 4 leave the pumps off for for step 3 to take place!!! about 30 mins min.

Also, have a turkey baster or similar ready too, if you drip aipasia-X onto a coral (like monti caps) it will burn them, so "blow off" any accidental drips on corals asap.

That's pretty much my standard operating procedure!
