This patch of algae has been on this one spiny for over a month. I like it and think it adds charachter. I just think it’s strange that it doesn’t spread. It’s also on the spot where water flow and light hit the most

It will spread, can take a tank over. Yes try to get rid of it and hope it doesn't spread

How would you recommend I remove it? Take the rock out and scrub?

If you can, yes. Then hit the spot with some H2O2 and rinse well with RODI water before returning it to the tank.

If removing the rock is not practical, bring some RODI water to a boil and shoot it on the algae with a turkey baster. Turn off all circulation in the tank first. If it turns bright green, you got it and it will be gone in a day or two.

Hair algae for sure. Unless your looking for a pasture.. pluck it out and baste it before it’s everywhere
