Why dont my nassarius Snails sift sand?

So pretty much what the title says, my nassarius snails do not go onto my sand bed. They stay on the glass and on the rocks and it drives me crazy. I keep reading about sand sifters and how so many recommend the NS but idk why? I just wwnt my sand to to be moved every now and then

if you want the sand bed moved, get a fighting conch. It will bulldoze itself through the sand all over the place. Nassarious bury in the sand, but i haven't noticed them doing and large movement of the sand in my tank. My nassarious also run around on the glass, but they also go in the sand.

They dont need to sift sand when they can stay home and collect unemployment.

Mine all go into the sand. How deep is your sand, and hard to tell from the picture but is your sand that black and white mix where the black is coarse?

Get a pistol shrimp and watchman goby these guys make my sand look like the Sahara desert

I see you're problem, those are not Nassarius! Those are Astrea snails, they never go near the sand and eat algae, how you were sold Astreas instead of Nassarius though boggles my mind, that is a rip off.

I have a sand-sifting goby, so no corals placed in my sand. But it could be a problem if you are placing corals directly in the sand bed. I actually have a miniture fighting conch which only stays about 2" length full size. It doesn't really bulldoze too much and likes to hang around the edge of the rocks to clean algae where it can reach up the rocks. But, it does bury into the sand when it sleeps or rests...but comes to the surface to move about.
