Wow ...time to test your water.

I'd personally go through scrape all the excess algae off trash it,siphon sand bed then do a water change.

Post your parameters

Lighting schedule and type of lighting used led,t5,mh also age of t5 bulbs if using them.

Size of tank
Type of flow
How man my gallons per a water change and how often

So many questions.

The lighting is on all night and off all day I would say I turn it on at 10pm and turn it off at 7am and there T5 bulbs and it's a 6 gallons tank and for flow I have the return pump and I have another small as well and I do a water change every week and I do about 2 gallons

Well just clean everything in the tank you can siphon the sandbed try to remove and detrus/debris trapped in the rocks.

Do a water change but test the water you are using before adding it see if the parameters are off maybe.

How often are you feeding the tank and what do you feed or dose?

The t5 bulbs how old are they? When bulbs get old they have negative affects on the tank (promotes algae growth)

Do you have any clean up crew besides the 1 turbo I saw?

There's a few things that can also be done. But start with the basics first.

Its very possible that you got this algae DNA into your system via NSW. Unfortunately, switching back is unlikely to help. You've gotten some great advice so far. The only thing I would add is to try and evaluate your feeding habits. You must have had plenty of nutrients in your system for this algae to take off so it is likely you are overfeeding your fish or not removing waste quickly enough.

But I'm not a heavy feeder I feed them once every other day

I haven't changed the bulbs since I got them and that was like a year ago and I have a cleaner shrimp and peppermint shrimp

And your water change schedule looks like building up waste shouldn't be an issue. Not with a 33% change every week.

Local fish store
Its likely been run through UV if not bleached. Id rule that out.
how many snails so you have? have you lost any?

Hey Bud, we should show them our mixing station.

rule out the NSW being the problem. Is it boxed? or is it stored.
most NSW being sold is clean and sterile. if its stored poorly in a big dirty holding container thats obviously bad.

the snail Q was to see if anything may have added a large amount of nutrients, or in the case of a ded turbo toxins.

Are you topping off with rodi?

So do u think I would switch back to the other water and yes I am topping it off with rodi

I saw it mentioned you haven't changed your t5 bulbs in approx 1 year, and you run them an average of 9 hours per day. On a lot fixtures that's right about the lifespan of a high quality t5 bulb. When they begin to fail t5s can produce more algae.

I would follow the great advice in this thread and try to determine if you have a source of nutrients that's feeding the spike, but you may also want to consider some bulb changes in the near future. If you have coral it's wise to change one bulb every one or two weeks to reduce the light shock

I'd like to see your No and Po.
It shouldn't be the salt.
Nutrients are usually to blame. A sudden bloom would indicate a dieoff of some kind.
A slow build would be increasing nutrients
