Why is my scoly doing this? I fed it on Wednesday and hes sitting at around 40-45 par as its acclimating to higher light brightness! He was open earlier but have since receded. He also did a gasp like thing before lights out

Maybe put it on your sand bed or the bottom of the tank so there is no chance of it getting bumped or bruised by rocks and or flow....

They will shrink at both feeding and at lights out. Keep an eye on him as the day goes along. Although they do well on the sand bottom, I am leery of sand getting into it. They als like moderate light and moderate water flow

When open, looks normal. Find out what is irritating him and either remove or protect scoly with a top of a 2 litre bottle where you can feed through opening yet allow light and flow to the scoly until the annoyer leaves it alone

I dont have any inverts in the tank that could irritate it at night and no fish steal from him either :) here's a photo of him in the day right now

LPS corals do all kinds of weird stuff. Like a teenage kid looking for pimples in the mirror, they can change their shape drastically. As long as it is not receding or loosing tissue and plumps up each day I would just keep an eye on it. These types of corals usually want a good meaty meal. I would feed mysis or something of the like.

Oh alright! And okay will do :) I feed tiny morsels of lrs frenzy once a week and it responds nicely :)

Thank you very much for all your help and taking your time to identify the health of the coral :) greatly appreciated!
