Does anyone know why chelated copper such as copper power is not available to buy in the EU?
Is it illegal to sell? Could it be imported legally?

I would suggest you ask your government. According to the answers from other. europeans - they might have an answer

I don't know. I think it might be available in Great Britain.

You could make your own copper solution with copper sulfate pentahydrate and citric acid. That is ionic copper though, and more toxic and harder to dose. I can get you my old recipe for it if you want.

Hyposalinity is still an option though.....

What are you trying to deal with? The tank transfer method can work for ich, and requires 0 medication. Just a lot of new saltwater.

Interestingly enough cupramine is available, but none of the chelated coppers

That is strange. I wonder - I bet it has something to do with governmental reporting. The companies that make coppersafe (Fritz) and Copper Power (Endich) are smaller and don't produce much in the way of supporting materials. SeaChem, that makes Cupramine, has MSDS, and all sorts of documentation. Perhaps they were able to use those documents to get EU approval to market their products?

Have you looked on Amazon? I believe Copper Power (Endich) ACP0004B is available in Europe?
I would make sure this is 'chelated' - not sure from my description - but it's the same level as the chelated copper power. EDIT - just saw Jay already kind of answered that they are the same.

If you look further you can see that it’s dispatched from the US so its subjected to tolls or confiscation at the border

And it also says: "This seller has represented that it will comply with all applicable laws, including offering only products and services that comply with Amazon’s policies and the applicable rules of EU law."

There would be no reason you would need to pay 'a toll' - you would need to pay VAT - but thats already taken out when you check out. In any case - there are other sources for the product - I just thought amazon was probably the easiest:)
