Why is my acan turning black???

Just was looking at my tank and decided to look at my acan and it was black on the inside I have had it for abt 8 months and never was it black.

Maybe too much light. Same thing happened to my pectinia but it's fine now that I lowered par
 
Nope no swings just a little bit more like phosphates than normal like a very slight difference.
Not sure... but my pectinia was fine for 4 months with even higher light and then it started turning black and turned down the light. Could just be light or maybe it's just getting black colour?

Should I just leave it for a few days and see what happens?
 
I'll bet that it's not black- all that blue light makes it look black. Get a normal flashlight and look at it after the lights go out.
 
When mine started turning black I found my TM hydrometer was way off and my salinity was high. It was quite an ordeal going through different brands of hydrometers and refractometers until I found one that was actually accurate and I could trust.
