Why is my goby burying my corals?

Sand sifting gobies are notorious for burying sand bed corals. They scoop up the sand and as they sift it the water currents take it in whatever the flow direction is. I got rid of mine because they constantly buried my chalices and scolys. If you have sand bed corals, then you need to look at removing the gobies. Moving the corals won't matter as the gobies go through your entire sand bed. JME

Same with engineer gobies. They will move everything and cover everything on the sandbed. On a regular basis too. Just fun quirks of some gobies.

Completely normal for certain gobies. In some cases they are incorporating them as part of their burrow, in other cases it is collateral damage from their normal activities.
