Why is my Mp40 pump and controller whining?

Did a water change on my tank and a little bit of water shot behind the tank but the controller was unharmed and dry but for some reason its started making a whining sound. What could it be?

I’d open up the controller just to make sure no water actually got in there.

The controller and pump is whining or does it sound like just the controller making noise? I agree to inspect for water inside the controller. That would suck!

it sounds like both the pump and controller were whining! but ill open it up and check it out!

I opened the controller and no sign of water damage! good thing was that the pump whine stopped but controller still is whining!
