Why is my Red-toothed trigger fish so twitchy?

Ever since I got my red-toothed trigger fish about 4 months ago now it’s been twitchy sometimes. I notice it’s mostly in the mornings. He sleeps in a pretty small hole at night so maybe he’s just stiff in the mornings. He’s eating tons and swims all around the tank during the day. Any idea what could be causing it? Is it normal? None of my other fish behave like this and all my water parameters are within range. I’ve linked a video below. Thanks for your help.

How smokey is the room that the tank is in? Maybe your skimmer pulls a lot of air. Just checking.

No smokers where I live and I also keep the window open a crack all winter long because I enjoy having a bit of fresh air

Looks healthy. I would just keep an eye on it. Triggers have lots of personality, they are like dogs in your tank.

I don’t think it’s disease related.

Could be a territorial display, many fish will shake like that in such circumstances.

Ok good to know. He seems very healthy, eating tons and he swims very fast. Nice to know they have personality

That makes sense because where he is is the hole that he sleeps in. He gets very upset if hermits go in the and he picks them up with his mouth and removes them . Thanks for the info!

Haha! Crab eviction is the first warning. Hopefully the hermits learn quick or they will be lunch next time.

Yeah he seems to have a pretty strong bite. I’m scared to stick my hand in the tank now. If he makes any motion towards me I remove my hand immediately! haha
