so I grabbed a small favia colony/frag from a local store. I got a msg last night from my gf asking why I dropped a nut shell into the tank And explained it was prob a shell but no clue where it would come from or why. Then she msgd and said my new rock was puking. Lol. Shooting stuff out at her she said. No clue what she's talking about. Lol. So I get home from work at 4am and looking at new coral for polyp extension in the dark with my cell and BAM my new favia puke farts out this white grit that quickly is blown away by my wakemaker and my tank is bare bottom. What the heck could be going on???? No click noise so ruling out pistol shrimp.

When I touch my acro and acan, they release some white, slime like substance. I don't know what it is. I think it is a defense mechanism to protect it from bacteria or foreign substance that was on my finger tips.

It's from the rockbelow where the coral is. Something in the rock itself

Haha I really want to know what it ends up being. Following. Can't provide any useful info tho :(

I can't see what you're talking about in the photo, but could it be part of a shrimp moult?

Sorry should also state that it looks as if there is a turkey Baster under the rock that gets squeezed once in a while.

You can't actually see it on the pic. I just posted that for the size of rock

could possibly be a bristle worm spawning.. it will happen for a couple days and then stop.. my entire reefs bristle worm population spawned all at once 15 years ago. turned the tank milky white. one of the coolest things I have ever seen.
