Why Is My Sand Shifting SeaStar Standing up

Everything is normal and where it should be. Had the tank 3 plus years. Only had the star for about 2 month. I feed him when he is where I can see him. If I can't see him I put a couple algae wafers into the sand for him. However my sand shifting star fish started standing up. Anyone know why or what it maybe doing?
I posted pics of what is in the tank with him. Along with pics of what he is doing.
It is a 75 gallon tank.

Do you see anything coming out of the star when it does this? Because this looks like your star either already is spawning or is about to spawn to me.

Mine does this when expelling waste
