Why is my scoly doing this?

Tank is two years old

I had a rusty tube holder thats since been changed
Ill check the impellers but im sure theyre doing fine
High voc not likely as ive educated everyone in the house not to use any

Tank is not grounded

I will give you a photo after work :)

It was slowly going downhill mainly with lps... but that was before the changes and my torches died and acans aswell but now the scoly isnt happy :(

If you haven’t already done so, running a poly bio marine poly filter can help pull any contaminates out of your tank

Yet people add pure vodka to their tank. The stuff in perfume, candles, etc - is not thought to be toxic - (by design) - companies do not want to kill people. By the way - one explanation for this is - on such and such a day - someone notices a problem with their tank - then they go looking for potential toxins. There is a bit of problem using this method - because - the problems might have been slowly occurring for days before it was 'noticed'.

Correct.. a tank on the verge of crashing anyway would be much more susceptible.

The tank I was referring to was a 14 gallon Biocube so yeah maybe 10 gallons of water? During the recovery process the poly filter I had put in the back sump section quickly turned a reddish orange color that would potentially indicate heavy metal contamination.

Any course of action i could take to sort this out?

Sounds like your doing all you can, maybe someone else will jump in with suggestions.. I would check again for possible contaminates or rust, water changes, run carbon and it couldn’t hurt to check for stray voltage..

Agree with check for rust. Give live phytoplankton a try... I feed my scolies and acan coral Frenzy through a tube to make sure the pellets are going on top of them. Live phytoplankton , Ocean Magic, everything has responded well, I just cut a scoly last week. The three to the left, they’re already healing. They ate pellets on day 2. I only feed them pellets once per week. LRF is fed to fish, anything left over in water is accepted by corals.

Broadcast fed or spot?

Broadcast fed or spot?

Spot feed meaty foods in small amounts.. you want to wait until they extend their feeding tentacles before offering food for best results. Dusting a stressed coral that’s not exhibiting a feeding response with food will most likely do more harm than good.

I have to catch mine late at night or early in the morning before the lights come on..

Alk and mag a little low.
how bright are your lights and what is location in tank for scoly and what water flow are you providing?

My lights are running at 54% overall intensity with channels at 100 excpet for red green and whites at 13%

He was out in the open having some medium flow but now its under an overhang with low/medium flow

Moderate flow with no sand falling on it is favorable. restore that flow to previous you mentioned

Anything else that should be done? It was slowly deteriorating at its original postion before aswell :(

bring white to 20% and one thing else- what is your salinity?
Range should be 1.025-1.026 and temp at 77-78 deg

Its 1.026 at 83 deg is what my apex is telling me and oh ****, cross checked with hanna salinity checker and its saying 84 deg!!! Also is it both the cool white and warm white to 20%? Also the radions are mounted 10in above water

temp quite warm which will affect salinity and Ph. I would take a water sample to a trusted LFS to verify all readings and to compare with yours

Looks like it's under direct light?

These guys can be tricky. I lost two in the sand bed, despite other showing growth. Scolys are deep water corals, and as such don't get a ton of light.
