I just saw my tank become really cloudy over a few days. I use an aquaclear 70 filter, inside of it I have a poly filter pad, a little bit of foam filter that came with the aquaclear, imagitarium filter pads, purigen, and some rubble rock for biological filtration. It was never like this before until I changed most of the filter pads and media, maybe it’s caused by the new filter pads and the dust on them? The cloudiness grew over a few days and now I’m worried. I did a water change a few days ago after I changed the filter media. Do you have any idea why the water looks like this? Thanks!

Typically cloudiness in the tank comes from a bacteria bloom, suspended sand, or microbubbles from a skimmer. It doesn't appear that you have skimmer or any other type of venturi pump so based on your statements I would guess it is a bacteria bloom. Unless you have a special occasion where you need the tank to be cleared up immediately, I would encourage you to take your time and solve the underlying issue and not just try to clarify the water. One observation is that you may want to add additional live rock for more biological filtration. Good luck!

kill the lights for a few days and see if it goes away. If so then resume with shorter duration lighting.

looks like bacteria bloom to me. waterchange probably wont help much. maybe use uv sterilizer. i had something similar to this before. all my corals are ok but all my seahorses were dead

Get clear fx pro and hang the sacks in the corner it will clear it up. Works amazing

I agree, it looks like a bacterial bloom. In my experience, limited as it is, I would recommend throwing an airstone in to oxygenate the water and then just ride it out. My bloom cleared in a few days and everything survived.
