Why is my TDS higher out than in?

Running the water through a 5-micron sediment filter to a 1-micron sediment filter, then through a 1-micron carbon block and into the RO membrane. The TDS meter's in/out sensors are orientated correctly. I have ~255 going into the first sediment filter but it comes out of the carbon block 2-3 points higher. The difference could be calibration between the two, but I would have expected the three filters to have more of an effect on reducing TDS prior to entering the RO membrane. Is this not usually the case?

Sediment filter removes sediment, Carbon removes organics, and the "membrane" removes TDS!

If it were me, I'd run one sediment and two carbon blocks....HERE.

I see, so sediment and organics don't affect total "dissolved" solids. That's obvious upon retrospect, I guess.

I decided to run two sediment filters because we have a lot of silt in the water currently with construction and water lines being replaced. I had been running only one but was having to replace it too frequently.

Maybe look into getting this sediment filter.
