Why is the recomended salinity for goniopora low ?

I cant seem to keep red goniopora. I have greens. Purplea. Mixtures of the colors.. but red ones seem to die in days in my tabk.

I cant figure out why. I noticed online alot of places recomend 1.023 to 25 salinity. Why is that ? Most other corals i always see 1.026 or so.

Why are the red gonioporas always melting and falling apart in my tank in days but the other colors seem fine ? Was also always told red is hardier.. and im finding that complete oposite.

The tank this one was in.. it was extended fully looked great.. then 3 days after i get it. Its 50% dead..

It’s not salinity , Goni are harder to keep in general. Low flow and low light in the beginning (acclimation is key ). Flow can be higher later, but not light. Feed them reef roid or some particle food. God speed. May of us learned this hard way

Yea i think my problem was i bought this red goni with some damage on the side of it. It wasnt bad. But this whole thing melted in my tank.

The other two red ones i got seem to be doing fine though.. one is like deep ruby red. The other is pink with a whitish/green mouth.

My other gonis i never had issues with i have 4 others various colors. Its just the red ones i seem to have issues with.
