Why no bubbles in display?

As in a waterfall effect or even an airstone. I would think the protein skimmer adds enough aeration, but is there a reason other than esthetics that it is rare to see bubbles in the display? Does it irritate corals? Salt creep?

I think it is everything you mentioned.....every bubble that pops at the surface sprays salt. I have read that they irritate coral as well (although I don't know for sure if that is true or not).

Salt creep is the main reason to keep bubbles out of the display, in no time at all you will have creep everywhere under the canopy..

And they aren’t necessary with the power heads, return pumps and skimmer oxygenating the water already.
