Why not use tap water in QT?

especially since I use tank transfer method. Why not just use tap and save myself a lot of hassle? Obviously I would dechlorinate it.

As long as it is only fish and your ph is good, should be fine. I use tap for phyto. Likes the extra nutrients.
Just watch ammonia badge.

I use water change water to fill my QT tanks, but if you are going to mix new and you’re talking fish then tap should be fine.

I was wondering the same thing earlier. Tbh, I dont see any downside to using tap in the at system unless the tap is already unsuitable for fish.. i.e. high ammonia or super high ph, etc.
