Took like 5 months to get a quote from RS. By that time I received it I already had a really awesome custom acrylic tank with livestock in it lol

ETA, before Christmas. There have been some circumstances that have caused him to get a bit behind this year, and as they say what don't kill you, will make you stronger. in my opinion his skill set is even greater now innovation after innovation, the man is not resting on his laurels

more employees means less control...less control means lower standards. lower standards equals NOT reef savvy!

plenty of companies that can turn out your tank in a month or two... you want the best, you gotta wait.
I agree with you, although I'm not know to be a patient guy, my tanks has been on the list since October 2015. I look forward to receiving it sometime in April 2016

Reef savvy over flow box is sweet and I Got priced by each and only difference was shipping cost really but savvy was more pricy but not by much on my quote but I heard the company that gives reef savvy the closest run for there money is those new Red Sea tanks

@That guy: are you referring to the Red Sea Reefer series or the Red Sea Max, I am considering the Reefer series which I think cheaper than Reef Savy but they only have smaller size

Yeah I think they only go up to 100 gallons but man seen them in person u get the whole setup and everything it's really sweet sorry to b off subject on the topic

I have been waiting for Reef Savvy since August. I have called and emailed them several times. Coast to Coast, A.G.E, Planet Aquarium and Miracles all got back to me within two weeks with design, cost and shipping.

I'm placing an order with Planet Aquarium in January for 72" x 36" x 24" - 3/4" low-iron, rimless and trimless with custom external coast to coast overflow and cross laminate bottom made out of PVC, Glass and HDPE.

@reef aholic: do u mind to share the cost of the tank that u mentioned above, just want to get an idea

I've called and emailed Reef Savvy a few times with no response on either front. I really want one of their tanks but now I'm reconsidering not supporting them, except for the Overflow, that's obvious.

Reef Savvy was paid to start a tank for me over a year ago and I still don't have it. The small difference in quality isn't worth the hassle IMO

Have you had any contact/dialogue with them regarding this delay? Did your original order quote you approximate six-month delay? Or have you just been left in the dark?

You can pick up the overflow from synergy reef/ almost any manufacturer can make one for you(my buddy built one for his tank...)
I REALLY wanted a RS tank at the time of asking for a quote but after basically being ignored for five months I totally gave up. Found me a local builder with high standards that produces tanks of almost the exact same quality AND he gets it done in under two weeks. Getting my 150 built in the next couple months WITH a ghost + new sump for less than a 50 gal from RS.
I understand that they got big fast but as a potential customer its off putting to have to wait months for an estimate and half a year to finally get the tank...

I agree. Since the Ghost Overflow is available through BRS, it just makes sense to run it since it's priced well. However, for the tank, RS isn't in the lineup anymore, which is a shame. I assume it'll be Planet Aquarium that gets my business.

Hello,
Customer service is very important to me, I think it says a lot about a company. So I would think hard about doing business with a company that can't return calls or e-mails.

I have visited Reef Savvy in Miami and I spoke with Felix in person regarding my build. Their work is very impressive and they have a small number of employee's and their attention to detail and innovation is second to none. Felix has assured me its well worth the wait explaining that if he would to hire more employees and obtain a larger facility would be more difficult to personally supervise every build and quality may suffer. So yeah he could build tanks faster, hire more people and get a bigger manufacturing facility but it would not be the same Reef Savvy people expect.
