Sorry for the low quality photo but you can see the clown in the nem at 3 am but now it goes no where near it

How long did he take to start and how long has he been out of the anemone?

I wouldn't worry. They are called clowns for a reason. They are very peculiar and goofy sometimes. Patience will be rewarded here.

The clown may be acclimating to the anemone. IMHO - Clowns do not host anemones - instead its the other way around anemones host clowns (aside - I wish I knew where the language came from) - so it could be the clown is getting used to the sting of that anemone - or - is rejecting it. Thats what they do

The problem Stephen. is that obviously - one can't force the clown into it. The key point - it's not a pathology - (something you need to do something about). My suggestion (if you want that clown in that anemone) - feed the anemone - with a tongs - the fish food. That brings the fish in. to eat - Then they tend to stay,

Is the anemone ok? It looks weird around the mouth but hard to see in the photo

yeah I know I could just catch him with my tweezers and force him to like it lol jk nah I’ll prob just try the feeding method tbh it’s probably the easiest way I just feel he has no threat atm to hide in it

So I got the clown from dr reef on a Wednesday he was in the nem Saturday morning but as soon as the lights came on since then never touched it
Not abnormal. I have 10 and they in a different tank lost interest and went on to mushrooms and even my elegance. In this tank, I have 4 BTA's and none of them want anything to do with it. They however love nesting in the xenias

Yeah totally disappointing lol this guy wants nothing to do with anything just swim into my wave maker

Took 3 months before one of my clowns even noticed the rbta I put in. Then she couldn't get enough for a couple weeks. Now she comes and goes, but she keeps the cleaner shrimp from annoying it. The male still hasn't noticed it.

I had a skunk clown that would only host my green bta at night and when the lights came on wouldn’t touch it. But after a week it started hosting it with the lights on too. Think of it like a bed, the clown will host it in the dark when it wants to hide more so to speak but will eventually start using it all the time. Totally normal I’d just give it a little more time

What kind of clown? If it’s a derivative of ocellaris (or percula) then bubble tip is not a natural host. I don’t keep bubbles anymore (just big majano in my book) it’s 50:50 at best.
