I moved my classroom aquarium home 2 weeks ago. I used about 5 gallons of the water I moved with and 8 gallons of freshly mixed stuff when I set the tank back up. I didn’t test PO4. I noticed the rocks becoming greener the other day so I figured phosphate must be up. Yesterday morning I tested with my ULR checker and it was .43. The aquarium has always been around .1-.2. I assume the .43 was a result of disturbed sandbed during the move. I did my normal Saturday water change and swapped out a bag of ChemiPure Blue for Blue Life’s ClearFX Pro. My PO4 now measures .21. I pretty much cut my phosphate levels in half. So I did another 5 gallon water change this morning and my PO4 is now .15.

I was advised not to let PO4 hit 0, which I have read many times on the forum. I wouldn’t do that anyway. My aquarium has always had what’s been considered high phosphate and has been perfect nonetheless. Should I do another 5 gallon water change? Would you?
