I'm still using digital timers. Which wifi power strip should I get?

I need one that still functions when the Wi-Fi is down.

I use a Kasa. It will function when wifi is down, but you won't have any control via WiFi. The strip will still supply power though.

I have this one and HATE IT!! the app always disconnects when using it- always having connection issues. I'd recommend using a strip that uses the Smart Life app- I haven't had any issues with their strips or smart outlets- just my 2 cents

Amazing how things work differently for different people. Never an issue with my Kasa app and I've had it for close to a year.

I can't for the life of me figure out why it drops connection all the time. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app several times and upgraded phones to see it that worked- so I got to assume its something in the strip itself. But regardless- it gives me the most headache. I have my lights, mp10, heater, and return pump hooked up to it- and will use it to turn everything off when I'm cleaning, or broadcast feeding- and I'll be able to turn everything off- but then it drops connection when I'm trying to turn everything back on, and won't reconnect again

I use both the Kasa strips and also the APC brand smart strips.

Both have pros and cons.

The Kasa strips have (6) smart 120v plugs, but the USB ports are dumb (not controllable)
The APC strips have (3) smart 120v plugs, (3) dumb 120v plugs, and (2) smart USB ports and (2) dumb USB ports.

Both are controllable via Google or Amazon Alexa and also SmartThings.

More than likely has to do with your router vs the device or your phone.

I have and use the Kasa power strip along with the standalone smart outlets and cameras and I have no issues with them. From my experience I would highly recommend them for some basic control.

I bought a bunch of these to replace my old timers. They have been working well for me. You can create your own schedule and they keep the schedule if they loose wifi. I have them on black box lights and sump chaeto lights mostly.

I also use the Kasa powerstrip and have had zero issues ever with it. I actually use 2 of them on my frag tank.

Kasa for me as well! Never had any issues with the power strips or the app. As mentioned the strips can be controlled via a phone app or Google/Alexa hubs. I have two strips running and need to pick up a third one. :-)

Kasa also. Love that I can use Alexa to control it. I can also control it when i'm out and about.

I just bought a Kasa on that deal should arrive later today. Will be nice to have control of some of my dumb pumps.

Will the Kasa strip allow you to set on/ off time schedules? Just curious as I didn't see it mentioned in the description.
Supposedly you can do that through Google using routines. I will report back after I have tested it.

Yes you can set a schedule to turn on/off. You can also set a timer say when you need to turn off the skimmer for 4 hours after dosing and have it turn on.
