Wierd thing in my tank?!! Please help

So lately I've been noticing these small white tube looking things on my rocks there's a bunch and I have no clue what it is if anybody has an idea I would greatly appreciate any answer to what it is an if they are positive or negetive?

Hard to tell but from the first picture they look like pineapple sponge.

are they look like fuzzy q-tips with a few white hairs sticking out one end. I have seen them before and never had any bad happen. Haven't seen them in a long time.

I saw them in an old sump I had that had bioballs in it. not to sure what they are. Not using that stuff anymore. Haven't seen them either.

I guess I was no help but maybe I described them well enough for someone to figure them out for you.

Yup that's exactly what they look like I have no clue what it is and my tank perimeter are stable so there isn't a problem that I have notice too far

Aha thanks found out that they are not a problem so it's fine but I don't want them to grow too much lol there not too pleasing to the eye lol but thanks for the help

They are more common in new systems and usually go away as the tank matures. some say that they like silicates. But they are harmless and are filter feeders. they are cleaning. If they dissapear than they have exhausted there food source or have been eaten by something.

What is your source of water and how do you treat it or filter it?
( I use only RO/DI in my tank but didn't start that way. I used to just treat the water from the tap and it took me a long time to get my water right again. but I haven't done that in years)
What type of sand is in your tank?

I have aragonite live sand that comes in those 20lb bags and I also started with tap water and jus switched to RODI 4 months ago

I have them all over the place. Not as appealing but not hurting anything.
