Just like any light it depends on your coverage area and livestock. I have 5 of those over my 150g 5x2x2 sps dominant tank Mounted with the long length of the lights going front to back on my tank. In addition I have some sanded acrylic cover to diffuse the light and improve spread, but this decreases the par 10-20%
I like to run 90% blue and about 10% white for the majority of the day morning 3 hours and evening 3 hours, and for 4 hours mid day I bump up the whites to get acros on top high pars in the 300 range so I bump the whites up to about 25%.
I use a seneye to monitor par readings and would not use these lights without one because they are really powerful. If you’re not checking par readings there’s a high chance you won’t be using them correctly. I would err on less intensity rather than more and go easy on the whites.
I do like the lights they seem higher quality build than Standard BB, fans are really quiet, app is a huge convenience even though UI on app isn’t great. I enjoy the spectrum and with my diffusing panel provides even coverage over tank for about 1/3 price of higher end lights.
