Anyone have an idea of what these are? They are like small wiggiling purple (or maybe brown) balls. They are about the size of pellets. I noticed them the past two weeks when I was doing water changes and I *think* they came from the sand. They can move the on their own. What do you guys think?

Looks like Aiptasia from the pic. They can sometimes attach in the sand and can be sucked out. They will quickly head to other areas and multiply.

I have a video but I can’t figure out how to post it yet. Doesn’t like the format. Let me see if I can get this to work.

Maybe something in the larval stage. But are they cool hitchhikers, or an impending plague? I hate it when that happens. :)

That’s what I thought too..... some kind of freaky babies

Huh! I would agree that they're likely larvae of SOMETHING. Motion reminds me of how juvenile bristleworms swim in the water. Maybe some sort of flatworm. Another thought could be that they're pelagic/free swimming copepods that are swarming/mating.

Still not sure what these are. And not sure if they are a blessing or curse!!

I would almost say baby urchins, if I had more than one. Could they have hitchhiked on a frag?
