I got this coral from the lfs around 1 year ago.
I had been watching this one at the lfs for a month or so hoping it would color up.
It was a small colony around the size of a baseball.
Branches were very close togheter and tight as I remember.

No one looked at it because it was black as coal.
Lfs fragged a few that did not make it and the colony started to stn till it was gone.
I took the chance at $10 and brought home a piece that was the size of a peanut that had been shelled and standing upright.

Well it did not die or I would not be posting this, lol.

It was black for at least 6 plus months with no polyp extension at all.
A small feather duster comes out of its side and is still their.

Ok 5 months ago I fired up my halides.
A few corals turned brown including this black one.
The other corals that tuned brown came back to their original color quickly.
The mystery coral stayed brown and was finally growing nicely now under the Halides.

So almost 9 weeks ago I started dosing amino acids, Elos Omega.

Slowly over this 8 week of very small doses of amino acids, 15 drops, it is turning purple with white polyps.

It is very smooth in texture and now branching.

Well that was long winded, lol

Here it is. I finally got a good pic from my phone tonight.

It is directly under the center of one of my 250 phoenix bulbs about 10" from the bottom.
Any idea as to what it might be?
It was an Aussie wild coral.

need pics under white lighting. Too blue to tell

No orange filter. Probably should get one with the amount of pics I take.
I will take a pic in the morning when the suns up with room ligting.
Pic is cell phone pic and lights are
14k phoenix and 1 OR3 light bar.
Best I can do tonight. I turned off the OR3.
I got to laugh as every one I know says my tank is to white.
I know the cell phone can throw it off.
The last pic looks more like it than this one.

I will look that one up.
It was a wild coral the lfs bought online, as I was told.
It sat for over a month with no polyp extention and was jet black. I will go look that one up thanks.

Well I just looked it up and it does not look the same, imo.
Mine is very smooth compaired to what I looked up.
Guess I will have to wait until it gets bigger.
