Got some Asterinas I want to get rid of, but I dont want to lose my sand sifting sea star.Do Harlequins eat all species of Sea Star?

They will not eat ALL starfish, but will eat all "tube footed" starfish, "tube footed" urchins and possibly "tube footed" cucumbers. They will NOT eat Brittle Starfish or Serpent Starfish, which are not "tube footed."

Asterina and sand sifting stars are "tube footed" so will be eaten.

Guess I'll take him to the LFS. I know I'll occasionally need to pick up a starfish to feed the Harlequin, but I've had this star for like two years. Doesnt seem right to sacrifice him;)

I didn't know they don't eat brittles, learn something new everyday.

100% correct, great advice. Had a pair of harlequins for over a year with a brittle and a serpant star. Never touched either one of them.
