Will a harlequin shrimp get eaten?

I have an issue with Asterina stars in my tank. I was wanting to put in a harlequin shrimp but I’m pretty sure it will get eaten. But hoping I am wrong. I have a 8” red coris wrasse, green wrasse blue throat trigger. So would he make it or would he be a goner.

No chance for shrimp. Start picking/netting asterinas by hand. Had a bunch And took me two months by hand but theyre gone.

Agreed that shrimp would stand no chance. I considered a harlequin myself, but with my Melanurus Wrasse tearing apart my last cleaner shrimp I won't risk it.

I agree with your Trigger making a meal of it pronto. Possibly even your Coris would too due to it's size.
I had a mated pair of Harlequins years ago for the same reason. 4" Melanurus and 3" Yellow Coris surprisingly left them alone. Could have something to do with the shrimp's color patterns, or my fish being fed enough.

Manual removal and find a way to reduce your nutrients or add snails/more snails to feed on what the starfish are currently.

Just a long-shot but, try grabbing an asterina and break it up a bit, then put it near the Trigger. Who knows, maybe it'll develop a taste for 'em ...

In my experience, blue throat trigger won’t bother the shrimps. But again, anything can happen.
