Will A New Light Harm Fish?

I just bought the noo-pysche pro 7 III and I am wanting to leave it on all day based on manufactures settings, but before I do, will turning it to 50% hurt or shock my fish? I had it on during the fishes first feeding this morning and none of them ate which may not be unusual considering they ate a ton less than 12 hours ago (fed last night at around 8PM). None of the fish seem out of sorts but was wondering if this sort of behavior happens when something new is introduced to the tank such as new lighting.

Any thoughts or comments are appreciated.

No. The fish do not care as long as you have a day and night cycle.
