Will adding Phyto daily starve Chaeto?

I am having an issue with my Chaeto slowly melting away in my Tunze MAR-3181. Reverse light schedule running for 12 hours, medium flow for somewhat gentle spin inside the reactor.

Does the daily addition of Phyto somehow play a part in that?

Never did for me. What is your water change schedule? Do you dose anything to makeup for stripped trace elements?

What lighting are you using for the chaeto? I dose 4 oz of phyto daily and pull out large quantities of chaeto. I have a simple grow light from Amazon.

Aprox 10% weekly water changes and adding 15ml of All for Reef daily.

Using the Tunze Eco Chic Refugium LED that is mounted on the MAR-3181.

You may be iron deficient, get an ICP test. If low I would dose for iron and phosphate.

I was thinking the same thing so my ICP test is being mailed out today

Also when I dosed iron it lowered my Po4, so if you are using Po4 reducing media you may have to stop using it.

I have not had to use anything to lower Po4 as it's always somewhere between 0.03 and 0.07
