Will an anemones eat a goby?

What are the risks of having an anemone with fish? I have one right now and don’t know if I should move it to a different tank to get my candy cane pistol shrimp a partner yasha goby.

What type of anemone? They will eat anything they can catch really, usually only dead fish for -- rock, maxi mini, btas, malus, however, the larger carpets will eat fish that are alive.

They are unlikely to eat a goby. Especially a sand/shrimp goby as they do not usually inhabit the same area. The btas will eat a dead fish happily, but usually cannot hold onto live healthy fish.

I agree with the above. I have a very large carpet and it recently ate one of my fish. Generally, most fish keep their distance (except clowns), but if it's startled or not paying attention, it can take a mere fraction of a second for it to get stung and stuck to the anemone.

Bta. Are more of a up higher off the sand bed type of anemone . But nothing says they won’t find a perfect place on the sand .
that being said . It’s less likely that they will eat a goby swimming by . But if it were to be weak or swim into the tentacles of a bta . Yes for sure if not eat it , it will make a mess of a small fish .

On the other hand , if you were to ask if a gig carpet anemone will eat fish .
I think I still have a picture of my 7” long foxface being consumer head first .

Should be no problem that high up. My hadonni got over 4 fish before it was moved. One was a 4" Magnificent Foxface. Ugh!
Fish are not safe with carpets on the prowl.
