Will Australian Harleguin tusk eat my CUC?

Hi i have a chance to get a 6 inch austrailan tust for $100! Will he eat my ctabs, sea stars, shrim and snails?
Need tonknow fast im in the store. Lol

Not a reefer but fish only.. He will almost eat your shrimp and clean up crew... But so worth it..... Sorry..

A 125 gallon or larger aquarium with plenty of live rock for hiding places and moderately aggressive, active fish such as Angels, Tangs, and smaller Triggers is an acceptable environment. Keep only one specimen per tank. Although they will not bother corals, they will eat any small crustacean such as snails or crabs.

Never mind that a snail isn't a crustacean. ;Shifty

LOL.....I have 14 Wrasses....I haven't had a cuc in three years with no problems. Just my 2 cents......I just saw a six inch tusk for 180.00 the other day, so 100.00 is a good deal!

If it’s a fish only system Vibrant should handle any algae issues

I had 1 in my 400 gallon and it loved snails to “ death”

There must be an abundance of Australian Harlequin Tusks lately. I just bought one a week ago for $120 and I already had the start of a CUC in QT that I now have to figure out what to do with. I did end up putting my snails in my DT because if he eats them I wouldn't be crushed, but my shrimp are in my sump now until I have a tank for them since I grew attached already.

I will say that this fish has the most personality, (kind of like a puffer) and is the coolest fish ever! I do not regret my decision at all. As far as a CUC goes, I will count on my five Tangs to keep the algae at bay and if the snails don't get eaten I will get several more to compensate for no shrimp or crabs.

It will make quick work of hermits a d shrimp, large Mexican turbos should he fine. My pink tail trigger had my oral banded shrimp for a snack, but my large snails he leaves alone.

Mine hasn't touched my cuc but I feed well. It's an awesome fish and well worth a few snails or crabs if it does eat them in my opinion

What do u have in ur cuc?

I have a few serpent and brittle stars....a short spined urchin, sand sifting star, and some snails.....all but the urchin are nocturnal so the Wrasses are sleeping when they are out. When I add snails I have to add the when the Wrasses go to sleep or they will eat them before they can bury in the sand. I have never had water quality issues or noticed any big difference in having a big cuc (pre wrasses) or a really small one. IMO a large clean up crew is not a necessity. I admit that inverts can be just as cool to watch as fish. They would unfortunately be an expensive lunch in my tank. My Red Coris Wrasse is the biggest invert eater out if all my Wrasses!
