Hi guys, I have a 20g long saltwater tank with soft and euphyllia corals with 1 damselfish, 1 cleaner shrimp, 2 peppermint shrimp and 5 small hermits.
I will go out of the country with my family for 4 weeks and wondering if I should use an auto feeder to feed the fish and the inverts or just take out the fish and not use feeder

Equips: I have a GFO reactor and an auto top off. I don't use other filteration other than live rocks.

Within the two choices. If I use an auto feeder, I'm afraid it will just increase the nitrates and phosphate with the lack of water changes. If I get rid of my fish and not use a feeder should I be worried about the inverts??..
Besides those two problems, can soft corals and euphyllias survive through 4 weeks of no water changes? I use coral pro salt. Will that have enough elements that corals need?

I can't find any other friends that can babysit it sadly..
Give me any suggestions.

You are not going to like this, but I would sell/give away all livestock, including CUC and just start again when you get home. Imagine how hot your house is going to be with no AC for a month. Also, I personally wouldn't risk running an ATO for a month unattended, many ATO horror stories, just not worth it.

I can give away all inverts and fish. But I don't really want to give away/sell the corals....my ato has been working fine for a while.

How often do you have to refill it? Where r u located?
I live in southern california. I have 20gallon of rodi water for the auto top off. i think that should be enough, cause it refills my tank less than a gallon a day.

Do you have a doser? And your a/c is staying on or off?
I dont have a doser but I do have supplements. I just found a buddy of mine that is willing to watch over it actualy.
Do you think soft/lps corals can survive no water changes for 4 weeks? or would I have to have him manually dose.

What part of socal are you in? There's tons of stores and company's that will take care of your tank while gone.....

Kim,
To answer your question....yes you corals can survive just fine without a water change for the time you're gone. Aside from the unexpected happening of course. Your fish will be the only ones that will require regular feeding.
