So got hair alage cyano and dino all at once not really bad but defitnley starting to cover the sides and back of the tank! I have a mixed reef 267l nitrate is 1ppm salifert phos 0.045(elos test)

So what is the best attack method? Iv already put my phos reactor back on along with my fuge also cut down fuge light from 24 to 12 hrs.

Is a 72hr Blackout safe with mixed sps lps and some softies and dose h202 or is this playing with fire?

Thanks in advance

They should be fine with a 72 hour blackout. I believe that is the standard for most algae blackout periods. Not sure the dosing of H2O2 though, never done it.

As above it should be fine, I did it for 3-4 days during a Dino outbreak and the tank was spotless when the lights came back on and no affect on the corals at all.

It’s just like a bad storm in the ocean

Thanks been getting alot of abuse of a facebook site for even suggesting the idea of a blackout with sps its frustrating

As part of my maintenance on my tank, I do a 3 day blackout at least twice a year.

Whether i am combatting something or not.

Don’t know about dosing peroxide, but I’m not sure you really need it.
