Will Clams adjust if they are in a crevice?

Hello all!

The day my wife went into labor, I got a clam that would grow with my first child. I placed it in a rock crevice where I thought it would be protected and stable. It has now grown over 22 months and seems to be more pinched than before and it is touching rock with either side of its shell.

Question: do I try to snap the pinching aspect of the rock (see pic)? Leave it alone since the clam will move if necessary (though there aren't places to really go on the ledge)? Try to sever the byssus organ and move the clam to a new location?

For reference, it has not SHOWN any signs of being bothered.

Congratulations dad!
If it ain’t broken then don’t fix it.
These clams can bore into rock and will move if they are not comfortable where they are located (in a tank). Once they are settled they don’t move much except to open and close their shells. If it’s open and growing then you should be happy. I can see some new shell growth (white edge) on the shell . That’s all you need or get to indicate that the clam is ok.

2 year old is good! Helps me feed the fish before daycare Can't wait to set her up with a few of my 20 rose bubble tips and a nemo fish.

And thanks for the advice! I'll leave it alone while its still growing and seeming well
