So I added a bag of Tisbe pods to my tank about a week ago, and now i can see the little pod eggs and larvae on the glass, theres a whole lot of em. But now Im starting to get some algae or dinos on the glass, cant really tell, and now its starting to become denser. My question is , if i scrap off the glass, will it kill all the pods? Like what if i leave the scraped off algae in the tank so the pods are still in there, will they die or will they still grow?
#reefsquad thx

Once you scrape, they’ll get tossed into the water column and may get sucked into the overflow. Or eaten by a fish as they float by. But I wouldn’t count on your glass as being the main source of your pods and their food. They should also be in the rocks, sand if you have. I know each one is precious but you have to keep the glass clean. If you don’t scrape your glass for long periods of time, it becomes harder and harder to clean.

I tihnk ill scrape it off then but the the stuff stay in the tank. Im just trying ot leave things alone for about 9-10 days so that the pods have enough time to grow and reproduce. Im keeping my UV sterilizer off for now, filter still on but on lower flow.

IMO a refugium is the best place to grow them. They get eaten by everything in my display. When my tank was fallow (fishless) I had thousands of them. When the fish and inverts went in, they disappeared. I always found fish and shrimps hunting them down.

You can also make Pod Hotels, use the Corrugated Plastic like they make signs out of. Most Craft Stores have the stuff. Only use the white board and don’t use a sign that has printing on it. Cut it in pieces, and glue the pieces together with Super Glue, and Glue a Flat Marble to that to weight it down. I soak this in RO/DI Water for a week, just to be on the safe side. Place it in a hidden area behind or below a rock. Also you can bury it in the sand bed. You can easily move the Pods from tank to tank, with the Pod Hotel.

Sounds interesting. Im not the craftiest person though lol scisors dont work for my big hands lol. What i have tohught of was one of those Pod Hotels, from Haven and Reef. Ive thought of just putting one of those in my tank and hide it behind a rock.
