I am planning on dosing my refugium with pods next week and i cant seem to find an answer to this question: will they make it from the fuge to the return through a sponge filter pad (in the baffle between the fuge and return)?

should i remove this and put crushed rock instead?

I obviously want them to make it to the tank.
They should, but it's speculation on how "efficiently" they will. Because they're nearly all microscopic, I wouldn't think too much on it. You should be fine.

I will occasionally just swirl and shake my cheato aggresively in thee sump, and plenty of the copepods get dislodged and make their way to the DT.

I'm jealous of all of you. I've put more pods in the sump than I care to remember, and I don't know that I have any. I've been adding since March...at least once a month if not more, and I have no indication that they're surviving in any meaningful way.

What are you feeding them?
