using tap water right now so i am expecting diatoms as usual got my ro/di unit coming in this weekend planning to do a 50 water change this week and next week but i am wondering 2 things.

1. will the diatoms eventually go away on my rocks? there is no way for me to get rid of them via scrubbing since the rock is so porous

2. if i don't scrub certain areas on the tank due to rock work being in the way will they eventually go away as well or should i move the rock work? certain areas are hard to reach unless i remove the rocks and right now i am scrubbing it twice a week since algae grows fast on my tank

i know within just 2 weeks there will still be traces of the tap water but i mean over time as i keep just using ro water will it go away

alright thanks. i also am getting this green type of algae in my tank as well but this one is hard to scrap off kind of like coraline algae but it's not. will this go away as well? usually grows on my tank walls only

Yah these are all stages of newly setup tank. Algae may or may not go away depending on your husbandry practices for your tank. If you keep phos and nitrates to near zero then yes.

ahh thanks yea i have to work on those not the best last time i checked my parameters everything was fine except my nitrates which were really high. the kit i was using seemed to be bad though tested it for like 2 months or something showed the same results regardless what i did. going to buy some better kits online when i get money.
